Birdeye launches on mobile

Birdeye’s trading data aggregation system has launched a version for mobile devices, according to Lightspeed.

The app — which supports Solana, Sui, and EVM chains — will let users track trades, price swings, and trending tokens. Jupiter offers an interface for swaps, but it requires that users trade tokens in a browser window. Swaps initially will be only on Android as Apple demands that all transactions happen within the application (presumably, so they can keep their famous 30%).

Birdeye could increase its income from swaps and subscription fees by gaining traction with the app.

Birdeye and other data-aggregation platforms have been able to find a niche in a world that sees tens or thousands of Solana Tokens being released daily. DEX Screener has also been a popular data platform integrated with memecoins, and it comes equipped with a smartphone app.

Birdeye’s Lan Boi Vu told me that the app was different than DEX Screener because Birdeye is built differently. “from scratch” It is better to use a smaller version of a website.

Interestingly, Boi Vu said the built-in notification system — which pushes alerts about large price movements or trades from specific wallets — was likely the app’s most important feature.

Birdeye makes some money from PRO. This is a spruced up version of the data platform that starts at $30 per monthly. Boi Vu has declined to say how many users the service currently has.

Birdeye sells expedited update services for information tokens like social media and logos. DEX Screener has a paid version of the update service. It also charges an additional fee. “0.3% or 0.4%” Boi Vu stated that there is a fee added to swaps done through the platforms Jupiter and Oneinch.

Birdeye’s data services division has customers like Uniswap, Jupiter and other well-known DeFi outfits. The company’s data services branch is owned by Birdeye. Customers include Uniswap and Jupiter. “very lucrative,” Boi Vu said.

The latest app in the App Store is the new mobile app. Jupiter, Cube Exchange and DRiP, are also Solana Projects that have just launched or are preparing to launch apps.

Boi Vu noted that the simultaneous release of multiple applications could be a problem. “not just […] Solana, but the entire Web3 community a lot more interconnected.”
