JPMorgan has reported that it had $1,000,000 in cryptocurrency exposure via exchange-traded fund (ETF) on its latest 13F.
The amount is 69% greater than what it was at the end the the third quarter in 2024.
According to the filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), JPMorgan’s exposure to Bitcoin (BTC) via ETFs is worth $964,322, nearly 71% larger than the $595,326 amount previously reported.
This traditional financial institution has added Bitwise’s BITB worth $65,881 to its portfolio, and Franklin Templeton’s EZBC shares worth under $3,000. It also owns 50 shares worth less than $3,000 each.
JPMorgan has increased its Fidelity FBTC share count by 208%, to 658 shares, valued at $53,719.
Moreover, it revealed that Grayscale BTC product exposure has decreased. JPMorgan cut the 3,695 shares it held from Grayscale’s GBTC and mini trust to 492, which are now worth $36,418.
The increase in JPMorgan’s BTC exposure via ETFs is related to BlackRock’s IBIT. IBIT now has a value of $278.094, compared to 387 shares.
JPMorgan’s exposure via ProShares’ Bitcoin futures ETF BITO grew to $527,502 in the latest 13F form despite shedding over 2,000 fund shares. Increase in dollar exposure is because of the increase in BTC price.
The exposure to ETH remains unchanged
Despite an increase in Bitcoin exposure by JPMorgan, the bank only owns Ethereum ETF shares worth $39 569. The $30,705 that JPMorgan held on Sept. 30, is now 29% more.
The financial institution now holds 300 shares of BlackRock’s ETHA, worth $7,587, and 80 shares of Fidelity’s FETH, worth $2,673.
JPMorgan has also reduced its exposure to Grayscale ETH, reducing from 4,246 to 1 050 shares in each quarter. The total value of the holdings was $29,435.
