Axie Infinity has released Axie Infinity : Atia’s Legacy. This is a Ronin-based game set in Lunacia, the Axie universe.
You can navigate Axie with your friends through the world of fantasy, complete quests and smack little monsters for XP.
It looks dynamic and cute, with a variety of weather conditions, challenges and Axies that you can swap as you move through the game world. The pop-up conversations look very similar to Animal Crossing, and the Axie-battling vibe is a lot like Pokémon in how you can inspect your available Axies and choose up to four for engaging in battles.
In battle, your Axies may share their gear and gain experience together. The quality of gear can vary from Common up to Legendary. This is similar to what you’ll find in battle royale and MMORPG games.
Overall, graphics for the mobile version are very good. It stays true to Axie’s pastel, charming aesthetic. It’s a shame that the voice-acting is so corny. But, if you are used to games on mobile devices, this won’t be an issue.
The wait is going to be long for those who are eager to get their hands on Atia’s Legacy. Axie has promised playtests “this year” Select Axie fans. Launch date is not yet known.
You can also earn AXS by referring your friends to play the game in the following 27 days or so after you have pre-registered. Top 200 participants will receive up to 25,000 AXS, or about $88,250. Along with tokens you may also receive a Mystic NFT. A team release stated that the more participants sign-up, the higher the potential rewards.
I am optimistic overall. Atia’s Legacy is more dynamic and exciting than the base games, which are often repetitive.
