Blockworks acquired The Breakdown – a podcasting and newsletters network created by Nathaniel Whittemore.
Blockworks has integrated The Breakdown’s services, such as its popular The Breakdown Podcast, YouTube Channel, Newsletter, and Bitcoin Builders’ podcast.
Mike and I met Nathaniel for the first time in 2018. He had launched one of those early crypto-newsletters, while we had launched Blockworks. Nathaniel was a key advisor in 2020 when we started building our editorial department. He helped us to shape our vision of a crypto native media brand.
Nathaniel has elevated The Breakdown to become the most respected daily podcast within the industry. What sets The Breakdown apart is not just its frequency — published six times a week — but its depth. It explores macroeconomics as well as geopolitics and the major shifts in power.
The acquisition of this podcasting network will allow us to expand our reach, improve our marketing capabilities and increase our distribution channels. This acquisition also enhances our cross-promotion of our research and events, strengthening our commitment to deliver top-tier crypto information to professionals and investors.
We plan to launch The Breakdown daily as Blockworks’ flagship podcast. We’re also excited to announce that NLW, as the host of The Breakdown Podcast will continue.
The Bitcoin Builders podcast will become our flagship Bitcoin podcast – more on that soon.
