- Oct. 10, 2024Three months later someone launched the GOAT Memecoin on Pump.fun. @truth_terminal supports the memecoin and now it has a $450-million market cap.
Memecoins are a huge part of the Solana platform. 99.9% represent a desperate attempt to mimic real world events.
There’s an authenticity to a meme token that is bootstrapped with AI. At least, this is the case for GOAT. Investors can now justify purchasing this meme instead of millions because “this one was months in the making by AI agents.”
Calling GOAT an “AI agent memecoin” This is also half-true. Andy Ayrey, who created the original tweets, approves them for posting.
@truth_terminal has 113k subscribers. Since several months, hundreds have sold their own tokens. Does @truth_terminal have a particular reason to be grappling with Andreessen’s direction? Ayrey may have nudged it.
Other words, @truth_terminal’s incoherent rambling is still guided by a human stream of consciousness. It’s not like the average person cares.
It is encouraging to see that GOAT has a fairly equal distribution of tokens. The top 10 holders own about 10.1% of the total token supply, and whatever Ayrey owns — about 0.3% of the total token supply — is spread between his own wallet and Truth Terminal’s wallet, all of which was gifted to them.
The experiment is interesting because it highlights the spontaneous spontaneity that comes with internet culture. Most memecoins rely on KOLs to market them. You might want to brace up before reading the Goatse Gospel.
