Roaring Kitty gave meme stock traders a gift for Christmas? It’s not clear what GameStop fans (GME), are up to this morning.
Keith shares are associated with the retailer. “Roaring Kitty” Gill’s shares, which are often the first to rise in the pre-market on Thursday, rose for those who think of Gill when they hear the name.
The gains, modest but noticeable at more than 3%, follow a Wednesday tweet from his X account that was characteristically vague—he often tweets clips from movies and other media without explaining their meaning, leaving much to the beholder—though also seasonal: an image of a wrapped gift box.

The company’s shares are also up by nearly 80%, but still below the prices of earlier spikes, which were largely influenced by Gill. GameStop reported their latest quarterly results earlier this month, revealing a drop in sales but a swing to net profits.
